What is Cellulitis Medical Condition?

Cellulitis is an infection of dermis and subcutaneous tissue. Or, cellulitis is infection of deep layer of skin and layer of fat tissues placed just under the skin. This infection most commonly occurs on the arms, legs or face. Although, cellulitis may appear on any body region, but most commonly on extermities.

Cellulitis affects people of all ages, but some types are more common in youngsters than adults (periorbital cellulitis). Real meaning of word "cellulitis" is "inflammation of the cells". Cellulitis and cellulite are two different terms, although at some internet sites they know to identify these two different terms.

What is Cellulite?

In order to clarify this we would say what is cellulitie. Cellulite is condition characterized by lumpy substances which appear as tiny collections of fat under the epidermis. Individuals who have athlete's foot, leading to dry cracked skin, are at particular risk. Youngsters and grownups with chicken pox can also be vulnerable, if the pocks are scratched. Second and third degree burns, in which the skin blisters and opens, can become infected. Additionally, some spiders, like the Brown Recluse, cause immediate cellulitis when they bite.
