What are the main causes of cellulitis? Well, first of all let us start by knowing what that disease is. It is a bacterial kind of infection that affects the dermis and subcutaneous tissues found just below the skin.

Chickenpox and shingles are conditions that will eventually lead to breakage of skin as the swollen parts will break and expose skin all over.

Cellulitis can also be contracted through injections as the needle will have to fracture the skin so that it gives way. A densely populated place also increases the chances that someone will catch the infection.

This infection has different symptoms which may show on any part of the body. First of all, the region that has been infected will become warm and tender.

As it continues you may start realizing that it is also swollen, red and painful to touch. In some cases, you may develop blisters which may also be painful.

As for the treatment, it will react well towards antibiotics like any other bacterial infection. Oral antibiotics are used to treat mild cases, however more adverse methods are used by for the ones with infection in the blood stream and lymph system.

Now that you know the causes of cellulitis, there are more things you can do to improve your situation.

Take more glasses of water daily, and let the swollen parts remain elevated so that the swelling subsides. You can always take painkillers if the pain is too much for you to handle.
